There is one synagogue, Temple B'nai Israel.
Two cemeteries, the B'nai Israel Cemetery, and the old Jewish section of Evergreen Cemetery. Burials from both of these cemeteries are in the Jewishgen world burial database.
In 1849, Abraham Levi and Henry Halfin came from Liberty, Mississippi to Victoria, and opened a small store in the Globe House Hotel. This eventually became one of the largest dry goods stores in SE Texas.
